| The West Highland White
Terrier shares his lineage with the Scottie, the Cairn and the Dandie
Dinmont as well as with other rough-haired terriers of Scotland. He was
originally bred as a hunter to keep down foxes and other vermin populations
on farms. By selection and interbreeding, the white coat was purposely
developed to distinguish the dog from its quarry while hunting. |
